The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) in Mpumalanga is currently checking out the Fernie 2 Local community Hall in Mpuluzi to render expert services to the community.
SASSA will be rendering companies which include new social grant applications, change of payment method, customer care enquiries, along with the Social Relief of Distress (SRD) COVID-19 grant enquiries.
In a press release, the agency stated it is alarmed about the substantial number of people counting on social grants for survival.
“The purpose on the Integrated Registration Outreach Programme here [ICROP] is to reach-out to a high quantity of clients/beneficiaries to access SASSA services.
“This is certainly as a result of lack of infrastructure at Fernie and there is no thoroughly functional office dedicated to service the area regularly. The services place developed for intervention experiences a high inflow of possible beneficiaries, which makes it complicated to the Workplace to attend to all people who visit a service point.
“In this reach-out programme, SASSA will mobilise a lot more assets to empower the servicing of all buyers and enhance use of Social Assistance expert services,” the agency said.
