The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) in Mpumalanga is currently visiting the Fernie two Community Hall in Mpuluzi to render expert services for the community.

SASSA will probably be rendering providers for example new social grant applications, change of payment method, consumer care enquiries, as well as the Social Relief of Distress (SRD) COVID-19 grant enquiries.

In a statement, the agency said it is alarmed regarding the large number of people counting on social grants for survival.
“The aim with the Integrated Registration Outreach Programme [ICROP] is to reach-out to some significant quantity of clients/beneficiaries to access SASSA services.

“This is due to lack of infrastructure at Fernie and there's no completely functional office committed to service the area on a daily basis. The support place read more established for intervention experiences a higher influx of prospective beneficiaries, which makes it hard for that Workplace to attend to all people who visit a service point.

“In this reach-out programme, SASSA will mobilise more resources to enable the servicing of all clients and improve access to Social Assistance providers,” the agency said.
